Mizi @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

Mr Fox is coming from Kuantan again. To avoid his mumbling, that I always let him UFO, last Saturday night  finally went dinner with him. So as one of hims friend were joining us too. Hehe.. I didn't let you 747 nor UFO this time right?

Located at Bandar Puteri Puchong, this famous steamboat restaurant, is the place we are heading to. I tried this before, about two or three years back. Now that I come back again, still feel good about this restaurant!

Main Entrance of Mizi

It's been two three years long, the forgetful me already forgot where is the exact location of the restaurant. We end up driving around, then we found so we actually just passed it by at that corner. Sigh.. Think I'm getting older and older..

Entrance at 2nd Floor

There are lots of holes on the table

But what is it used for?

It's for you to put in your pot
Just put the pot in it, and on the stove, as convenient as that
And it's really hygiene too, everybody get their own pot

Ingredients for ABD Soup
(Tomatoes, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Onion)
Add this in to increase the favor of your soup, the original soup was rather too pale

Ingredients for Korean Kim-Chi Soup
The Kim-Chi is rather spicy, and the soup became spicy too, which really increase your appetite

The basic ingredient of Mizi's
(Fresh Vege, Fish Balls, Carrots, Japenese Toufu, Egg, Fried Fu-Jok, Fried Dried Toufu, etc)

The Main Course
(Left to right: Lamb, Beef, Pork)
Ofcourse there are others, but we only ordered this 3 types

Pork Slices
Just put the pork slices into the hot pot for few flips, it's ready to server, and it tasted terrific!

Beef Slices
This tasted great too, just make it the same way as the pork slices

Never overcook it, else you are going to spoiled it

House-made Special Sauce
Inside are peanuts, green onion, etc (I only managed to recognize this two..)

On the left is something like Sambal Sauce
On the right is the normal Chili's Sauce

The table full of variety of ingredients, and guess what, this is only for 1 person! (which is mine)

Mango + Orange Juice
Not bad though, a bit sourish

Forgot whats the taste..
So Mr Fox, why don't you comment this yourself?

Penang Again at September, 2009

It's been said many many times that we want to go for another food trip in Penang, but every time is to no avail. Last month, we supposed to get our foot on the island, but in the end the trip was canceled. This month, we finally able to make! Hahaha.. Well, his father kena 4D, so invited us there FOC! This Hari Raya, is the weekend that we are off to the North!

Well, obviously we have got the wrong date. We really shouldn't get out of town during Public Holiday. Imagine this, those going outstation to visit relatives or travels, those balik-kampung. Gosh, we actually got stuck in the traffic for four hours!  My leg was almost crapped. Sigh, the police traffic even allow us to use the emergency lane, but it seems like doesn't really make a different though.

So, next time, do stay at home. Do not go anywhere, especially driving outstation. It's really killing..

See.. How horrible was that..

After dinner at Taiping, and eventually took some rest, we continue our journey. The traffic seems much better at night. Finally we reached the apartment, before 12 midnight, haha. Checked-in to the apartment, shifted our bags there. Off we go for supper!

But then, its a total disappointment. The night's supper was terribly bad. I thought whatever food we can get in Penang, no matter where it is, should taste great. But then I was wrong, so wrong. We end up just simply eat something to fill the stomach.

The following two days, has got no plan at all, we just go wherever we thought of to. And there was nothing special too, just eat, walk, sleep, take photos. Food that we tried, were those Penang famous, that we can get in KL. Just, at here, it taste so much better.

Carnation Bah Kut Teh & Seafood

Check out the white hair uncle in the photo located in the middle of the restaurant's signboard
The famous HK food hostess, Tchai-Lan

Bah Kut Teh
This included 3 types of meat in the pot
Soup was a bit dull, doesn't smell so strong

Tou-Chu
So-so, nothing really special about it
(They do not server bean-curd, so we ordered this)

The Big Bone
Strongly recommended by Tchai-Lan, the house's dish
Smooth silky meat on the bone taste real good!

Road side stalls at Macalister Road

Macalister Road is the name of a alleylocated at heart of the Penang town, near to Sunway Hotel. Along the alley, are where the food stalls parked. At night, this alley will be very crowded with people. And, it's really difficult to find a seat, 'coz all are full. So, once you aimed one, you must faster walk over and just stand there til the customer left. Haha..

ABC
So-so, not too sweet, taste rich though

Penang Poh-Piah
Not bad, thought the wrapper a bit thick

Kuey-Teow Soup
So-so, but the pork meatballs taste great

Penang Curry Mee
Tasteless, oily, not god

Fried Oyster
The oyster are big and fresh, taste good!
But still a bit oily

As you can see, there are people walking around the alley, just so crowded

This is the stall that I bought fried oyster
Look at the lady in oragnge t-shirt, she is the one who cook for us. So young, right?

~~ ** ~~

Besides food, we do walk around the island, though not many.

The logo of G Hotel, with songkok

On the way to the hawkers center, we saw this snail trying very hard to 'walk' over to another stone chair

The golden motorcycle, just so classic!

Kelong on the sea

Chinese Temple

Penang Bridge

The city across the river

This taken on the way back, on the Penang bridge

Lots of ferries parked at the port

The sky of Penang. Don't know when will be the next time we are here? Hm..

Papa John's @ BTS

Last last Wednesday, went for a movie with a group of colleagues.

After reached BTS, collected the movie tickets, it's dinner time! Famous with American Pizza, Papa John's, is the choice of the evening.

Italian Style Thin Crust Pizza
Thin and crunchy crust taste real good

Normal Thick Crust Pizza
The crust is too think, while the ingredients are too little

Cabonara Spaghetti

Taste not bad, but the spaghetti is overcooked

Cheese Bread
So-so, the cheese is not rich enough

The Platter
Friend Chicken Wing, Fried Onion Ring, and Fried Wedges
Don't like this at all
The fried chicken wing are overcooked, dry and tasteless
The fried onion ring are too oily
The fried wedges, well, Uncle Kentuky's taste much better though

Cheese Sauce
May put on the pizza to increase the cheesiness

Pickled Chili
Sort of appertizer?
Taste a bit sour and spicy, quite good though

1977 Ipoh Chicken Rice @ Seri Petaling

This is just another oh-dragged-so-long-post.

The restaurant is located at Seri Petaling, selling Ipoh Chicken Rice. Ah-Dou, who originally from Ipoh, said she been so desperately missing the Ipoh Chicken Rice. So there we go to give it a try. The location is actually near to the Sen Heng Electrical Shop, just at the are opposite. And, it's just next to the main road, you should be able to catch it while driving along the road.

This is what we had the other evening
Pork balls, Ipoh Tou-geh, Steamed Chicken, Char-Siew & Siew-Yok

The waiters are all very clean and neat, they even wearing mask while cooking

The famous Ipoh Steamed Chicken
So smooth and soft like what we had in Ipoh

Ipog Tou-Geh
Although not every single stripe is fat and sweet, but it still taste very good

Char_Siew & Siew Yok
Siew-Yok are terrific, crunchy skin with softy meat
But the Char-Siew, a bit too salty, and the meat are overcooked

Ipoh Kuey-Teow Soup
Thin slices of Kuey-Teow, served with sweet and tasty chicken soup, just great !

Pork Meat Balls
Bouncing rich pork feeling
